Healthy climate

The Costa Blanca, a paradise on the south-east coast of Spain, with its countless flamingos in many shallow lakes and picturesque sandy beaches, has been awarded the title of "Best Climate in the World" by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

The Mediterranean, subtropical climate offers mild summer temperatures all year round and even in winter it is still spring-like. The sun shines on the Costa Blanca an average of 320 days per year. Although the coldest month of the year still has a comfortable average temperature of around 15 degrees Celsius, the barometer rarely rises above 35 degrees Celsius on hot summer days in south-eastern Spain.

The reason for this healthy climate is the mountain range from Murcia to Denia. This mountain range is like a kind of protective wall in the interior. The mountains vary in height between 1.000 and 1.500 metres. This mountain range acts as a buffer against the weather from the sea and the hinterland.

This makes the Costa Blanca especially a pleasant environment for people with respiratory diseases such as asthma, skin problems such as psoriasis and allergies. People with rheumatism, muscle or joint problems tend to feel much better in this climate.
